I guess other people feel the same way. Well apparently other people are bashing this gal for saying how she feels. I don't know this lady, but I just wanted to share some short thoughts on being a Christian. I also commented this same thing on her post. Not sure how she feels about my thoughts, as I am a Latter-day Saint (LDS a.k.a Mormon).
She turned 8 in January. When my children turn 8 we have them start doing Fast Sunday's with us. Now that church starts at 1 pm it is really hard to fast so long. About 30 minutes ago she told me she was hungry. I told her since she fasted through breakfast that she could go ahead and eat lunch if she wanted. She told me no, she wants to fast. So proud of that girl and the choices she makes! When she was baptized she was just giddy with excitement. When she came out of the water she was so excited she wanted to do it again. I love that girl and the example she is!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-55744731803330642802014-02-13T20:07:00.002-07:002014-02-13T20:07:44.166-07:00Preston's PrayersI love to hear Preston's prayers. He tells stories in his prayers. As it should be. Kyle is flying home from Chicago right now. Preston said prayers for dinner tonight. He was going on naming each one of us saying that he loves us and he comes to Kyle and says, "I love dad..." then he pauses and says, "but I miss dad." So sweet and so real.

He misses his dad everyday while he is at work. He will ask me, "Is dad driving?" (a.k.a. "Is dad on his way home from work.") Today we tried to explain that no he is not driving but he is in an airplane in the sky coming home. He was not quite sure how to understand this. The kids had a lot of fun. I wanted to come home and watch "I Love Lucy" after watching the candy go down the conveyer belt. After they got to make Chocolate Pizzas.

Since I don't like chocolate, the kids were a little concerned about me walking through with the nasty chocolate smell. I joked with them that I might have to wear a mask. I didn't and I survived.

Happy Valentines to my SWEET family. It sure has been a fun school year so far.
We had a lot if fun while they were learning Science and they didn't even know it. I got to teach them about the Creation and how Science goes along with it. The different parts of Science. Drew learned that there is a Science called Zoology and was very excited about that. Then we started talking about Galileo and the pendulum and how it works. We watched a bunch of cool YouTube videos showing pendulums and some how started watching videos about experiments with eggs. Fun night and they didn't even realize they were learning. It was sooooo easy (I like easy). We will see how they taste at dinner tonight. Cooking is not my favorite thing to do but when you are trying to pinch penny's you find yourself cooking from scratch more. I guess it is teaching me to be more self-sufficient which is a good thing and, I think, kind of cool.

Anyway, I got the recipe (and picture) from this website, food.com. The recipe had 5 stars, I don't like to get a recipe unless it has 4 1/2 to 5 stars. The big test is to see how my family likes it.

Note: They loved the homemade buns. After I cooked them, I sliced them in half and put them under the broiler to crisp them up a bit. We are trying to eat healthier so I didn't butter them (on a weekend though I might butter them first and add a bit of honey and then put it under the broiler). I am proud to be a mom. I love my husband and my children passionately and I am a stay at home mom and I LOVE it!! I am easy going. I am generally a happy person. I believe in God. I am grateful for the atonement, because I have certainly needed it throughout my life. I am grateful for a a church that excepts imperfect people, because I am so far from being perfect. I believe that we are here on this earth to be tested and tried and to learn and grow. I believe families can be together forever. I believe marriage should be between a husband and wife. I am conservative. Sometimes I like to listen to Rush, Hannity, and Beck. I have strong beliefs and I know others have different beliefs and that is OK. I don't like confrontation, but sometimes I say things before I think. Thank goodness for forgiving family and friends. I come from a family of farmers. My father was a pig farmer. I eat meat, some of my family hunts and they eat the meat they hunt. I have friends that don't believe the same way or live the same way I do and that is their choice but I don't think they are bad people. I am grateful that we all have freedom to choose how and what we believe. Sometimes I will post things that other people disagree with, in fact I have family that disagree with my thoughts too, but we still love each other and get along and like each other despite our thoughts. I am grateful and proud to be an American. Thank goodness for freedom of speech and freedom to go to church where and when we want to. I thank my Heavenly Father every Sunday that my family lives in a land where we are able to worship where we want. I try to read my scriptures and pray daily. I am trying to teach my children to do the same. I am trying to raise them with conservative values. I want them to grow up reading the Book of Mormon, The Bible and the other standard works. I want them to read other good books, and to read the classics. I want them to grow up learning about our past so they know how to live in the future.

I try to believe in the best of others. I don't like gossip. I try not to gossip and tend to stay away from people who do. I try not to judge, I don't have that right. We all make mistakes, none of us are perfect. We are all just trying to live the best life each of us knows how.

These are just my ramblings, This is who I am.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-13054629687973392942012-01-03T08:00:00.001-07:002012-01-03T08:00:51.472-07:00Power of Moms - Deliberate mom and wife.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-24902428620814275592010-12-06T09:00:00.003-07:002010-12-06T09:07:43.439-07:00ThankfulI just read a post on FB that made me sad and grateful at the same time. Yellow roses grow in heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my father's arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him. When he turns to smile place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for awhile, because remembering him is easy, I do it every day. So I come downstairs to make them breakfast and at the bottom of the stairs sit Drew and Jaedyn.

Drew asks me, "May I take you to your seat?" Why certainly. So he and Jaedyn take me by the hands and take me over to the table. Drew then tells me he is going to make me a bologna sandwich (I have been teaching him how to make his own lunches lately).

I think it was the best sandwich I have ever tasted. :0) Thank goodness I had him use the light mayo. We are all getting so anxious to meet this little guy. Andrew is so excited to share his room with him and Jaedyn is excited to help out and be a big sister.

We have a c-section scheduled for 12/28, around 4:30 in the afternoon. Grammy, Aunt Chelle along with her kids, and possibly Aunt Tricia will be here for a few days to help out and welcome him in to our new home.

Preston will be sharing his birthday with his older cousin Brycelyn.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-63031358111524327282009-12-11T13:19:00.002-07:002009-12-11T13:25:05.330-07:00I Found a way to be released...I am in the RS Presidency and Kyle is in the bishopric. We are always joking about finding ways to be released...

So, I am now 36 weeks pregnant. Nothing is comfortable to wear right now. I was in my sweats all day and had to go visiting teaching later that afternoon. I got dressed and put on a skirt and then put on a shirt that I have worn maybe one other time. Glanced in the mirror, everything in place, then I ran to Walmart before I went visiting teaching.

While at Walmart, I am wondering around Walmart and start to rub my oh so pregnant belly when i realize the bottom of my belly is not covered. I am bearing my big pregnant midriff. Yep, the shirt had wandered up as i was walking around. Me, I am horrified and zip my sweater up. Thinking all the while, I am glad no one at church saw me, and that is a quick way to get released.

When, i come home and take my sweater off to show Kyle, he starts laughing and tells me that I am going to show up on that people of walmart website!

Ugh!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-12007172049402210102009-10-28T03:18:00.002-07:002009-10-28T09:28:16.065-07:00This is the Best Day EVER!With Drew starting Kindergarten this year he and I haven't had a lot of just mommy and Drew time. Jaedyn and I have been spending a lot of time together because she is at home with me during the day. She has been with me to the doctors while Kyle and Drew do boy stuff and been to bridal showers with me while Kyle and Drew have gone to the movies.

On Monday I had a doctors appointment to go to. I schedule them for when Kyle gets off of work so that he can watch one or both of the kids. On Monday, I decided to see if Drew wanted to come with me. I had to sneak him downstairs and whisper in his ear so Jaedyn wouldn't hear because she would have cried if she knew I was leaving the house without her (turns out she was perfectly happy spending quality time with her dad that afternoon. They got to go get sodas, and go to the store and spend their own quality time together).

Anyway, he decided to come with me and as we were driving off I was thanking him for coming and he kept telling me he didn't want me to be alone. Anyway, as we are heading to the doctors (it is a 40-45 minute trip). He started telling me, "This is the best day ever!" I asked him what made it the best day ever and he would tell me, "Mommy and me time." I love that boy! We had a great time at the doctors office. He got to hear the babies heartbeat and talk to the doctor and nurses, and look at books, and pictures of other babies. Afterward, we went through the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut drive through and bought us each Pepperoni Personal Pan Pizzas (Drew's favorite meal is pizza) and then headed to Target because I had procrastinated long enough on putting together Halloween costumes. Drew wanted to be Mario (Mario and Luigi) and I was going to put together a costume but finding overalls at the last minute was a little difficult (ok, I didn't try to hard). So as we were walking through the costume isles we found a Nascar racer outfit and it was RED (his favorite color). He has been getting into NASCAR lately with his dad so he was excited to have it. After we went to look for a costume for Jaedyn. She wants to be Han Tanna, a.k.a. Hanna Montana. I found her some cute clothes that I mixed and matched in the girls department and with a blowup guitar that I bought from walmart and doing her hair up and letting her wear makeup, I think she will be just happy.

Anyway, Drew and I had a great afternoon together and all throughout that afternoon he kept telling me, "This is the best day EVER!" And I have to agree with him, it was the best day ever. But of course all of my days with my little family are the best days ever.

I love you Andrew!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-87856831890132365312009-08-05T07:40:00.003-07:002009-08-05T07:45:13.978-07:00I want to be like youSo I am giving my baby girl (not really baby she is 3 1/2) a hug this morning and I was telling her how much I love her and not to grow up too quickly and she tells me. "It's all right mom. I want to be like you." I LOVE that girl. Oh the pressure! I need to be such a good example to her and need to teach her and love her. I want her to be confident and happy and fun and modest and to, most importantly, love her Heavenly Father. I want her to know with out a doubt she is a Daughter of a Heavenly King. We have such a good relationship right now and I pray that it continues to be that way when she is a teenager. She is such a good girl and she loves "her Jesus." I am so proud of you Jaedyn Belle!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3705991079944884686.post-89771228632547026742009-07-23T19:16:00.001-07:002009-07-23T19:17:16.258-07:00Farm Chicks GiveawayFarm Chicks are some of their neat finds away that they got in NYC. Maybe someday...

http://www.homegoods.com

You have a refined sensibility with an appreciation for history and tradition in your furniture and your rooms. You value beauty and craftsmanship. You are visually sensitive and understand how symmetry and a balanced layout give order to a room. But you definitely like to shake things up with some unabashed luxury and glamour to keep things from getting boring. You go for rich materials like velvets, one-of-a-kind objects, lady-like touches, glimmering accessories, and a sense of old-Hollywood romance that makes your home dramatic and elegant.

You value creativity. You are stylish and fun loving, and can be an inspiration to others. You have a natural sense of drama, and you know you have to be willing to take risks—whether with colors, finishes, furniture choices, or ideas—for your home to stand out. Your home can be happy and lively and the place all of your friends want to be.

Putting Your Style to Work!
With your style and needs in mind, here are a few tips that will help you make your home a little happier.

1. Your Design Challenge: LIGHT Think about borrowing light and reflecting it. Placing mirrors across from windows multiplies whatever light you do have and can extend the view, or try two mirrors across from one another. If you find a big frame you like, you can have a mirror cut for it. Consider putting sconces near mirrors or candles or even lamps in front of them to enhance their light. Hanging chandeliers are nicer than recessed lights, and lots of small lamps work better than one big light source. Go for a few choice, sparkly accessories like candlesticks, boxes, frames and trays in silver or gold.

2. Your Happy Place Make this room as comfortable and inviting as possible by bringing in some real furniture like an armchair or a sofa if you have the space. A little lamp on the counter or decorative hanging light can set the mood. Stools are great perches and can easily be moved around. Don't forget to bring your personality and style into this room: hang some art or display a collection of family photos in mixed frames. Consider bold, happy colors in the kitchen as well, like brightly colored pots and pans, big bowls for corralling fruits and vegetables, and trays for spices, oils, teas and pepper mills.

3. Be Party-Ready All the Time! Scent: The first thing you notice about a home is how it smells. Use naturally fragrant cleaning products. If you find a scented candle or fresh potpourri you love, stock up on it. Any scent you like, whether perfume or linen spray, can be used on upholstery, bedding or just spritzed into the air.

Mood: Nice, flattering light makes us feel good. So nix the harsh, direct light from overhead fixtures in favor of the softer glow from floor and table lamps. Also, stock up on some votive candles and a couple of hurricane lanterns for setting around the room.

Food: Devote space in your pantry or on a shelf for go-to party essentials: crackers, dip, chips, nuts—whatever you like to serve. Keep on hand a collection of attractive bowls and cocktail napkins, and you'll be able to set a spread—instantly!

Drink: The simplest and chicest thing is to have a drinks tray or table always set up. Include a mix of pretty glasses, an ice bucket, a lovely pitcher, and bottles of soda and water. When the bell rings, just add ice and limes.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
