INGREDIENTS:
4 ounces saltine crackers 1 cup butter 1 cup dark brown sugar | 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup chopped pecans |
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
Line cookie sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.
In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over saltines and spread t cover crackers completely.
Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate and top with chopped nuts. Cool completely and break into pieces. When I was working a friend of mine made these and brought them in to work. They are really good and I just found the recipe off of www.allrecipes.com. I didn't have dark brown sugar so I used regular brown sugar. And I did one cup of chopped pecans instead of 3/4 cup. And because I don't care for chocolate anyway and only had semi-sweet chips I used 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. If I would have had milk chocolate I would have used the full 2 cups. Anyway, my kids loved these, lets see if Kyle will too. :0) |
